The You Are Welcome Here Scholarship was developed by the U.S. higher education institution’s commitment to providing a welcoming, safe and diverse environment to international students. The YouAreWelcomeHere scholarship is a great opportunity for international students who have a vision for enhancing intercultural understanding. YouAreWelcomeHere scholarships are open to first-year international students admitted for an undergraduate degree.
The scholarship is open for International students of all academic majors and fields of study. Candidates should submit their scholarship application to each participating college/university to which they are applying. Successful applicants will be dedicated to furthering the YouAreWelcomeHere message by bridging intercultural divides. Applicants will have to submit a 500-1000 word written essay or a 2-5 minute intro video about leadership skills and ideas. Scholarships will cover a minimum of 50% tuition to selected international students.
Eligibility Criteria For You Are Welcome Here Scholarship
Applicants should be first-year international students to a participating college or university. An international student is an individual who holds citizenship except for the United States and who also does not possess USA citizenship or permanent residency.
- Attend a secondary level school outside of the United States.
- Demonstrate interest and personal initiative in activities involving intercultural learning.
- complete the scholarship application. and a 500-1000 word essay or a two-to-five minute intro video answering the queries provided in the application.
Applicants to all academic majors are welcome to apply for the You Are Welcome Here Scholarship.
Scholarship Maintenance
- The scholarship will be given for up to 4 years.
- Participate in at least 10 hours of cultural sharing and engagement with the local community.
- Maintain a GPA of at least 3.0.
- Enroll and successfully complete a minimum of 12 credits for the Fall and Spring semesters.
Application Process For You Are Welcome Here Scholarship 2021
1. Candidates can apply for admission at participating colleges/universities of their choice. But please note that admissions processes vary from institution to institution.
2. Submit all the required application materials before the deadline of the You Are Welcome Heer Scholarship.
3. You need to submit the one-page YouAreWelcomeHere application to your chosen colleges/universities by December 15, 2021.
4. Soon after submitting your application, you will receive an email with your personalized link to the scholarship application.
5. If awarded a scholarship, claim it by submitting a tuition deposit to your chosen college/university by May 1.
