Pakistan to buy 1.2 million COVID-19 vaccine doses from China’s Sinopharm

Pakistani Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry has confirmed that Pakistan has decided to buy 1.2 million COVID-19 doses of coronavirus vaccines from China’s Sinopharm. It will be the first order of coronavirus vaccines by Pakistan. Fawad Chaudhry also said we have pre-booked 1.2 million COVID-19 doses.it will be available in the first quarter of the next year. It was purchased for the second wave of coronavirus. China has already approved the COVID-19 vaccines made by Sinopharm but it will be the first supply of vaccines for public use.

Fawad Chaudhry also confirmed that it will be provided free to the frontline workers. More he added that the private sector also will be allowed to buy the COVID-19 vaccine from abroad. There are 2,475 new coronavirus cases and 58 deaths have been reported on 30 December.

Pakistani Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry said the COVID-19 vaccine will be free for frontline workers. Though private sectors can also buy an internationally approved vaccine. A Cabinet committee meeting was held by Minister of Planning Asad Umer in which he confirmed that Pakistan has specified 250 million dollars for buying the COVID-19 vaccine. Some countries have also pre-booked vaccines in the pre-development phase. Pakistan has also signed agreements with various companies to deal with any emergency situation.

A Special Committee of Pakistan to supervise COVID-19 vaccine

There is a special cabinet committee for the supervision of the COVID-19 vaccine. Pakistani Minister of Planning Asad Umer is the head of the committee. Many Ministers attended the cabinet committee second meeting on Wednesday which was chaired by Asad Umer. The committee decided to provide free vaccines to the frontline workers in the first phase. Then in the second phase, it will be provided to the people whose age is more than 65 years.

China has confirmed that the Sinopharm vaccine is found to be 79 percent effective.

پاکستانی وفاقی وزیر فواد چوہدری نے تصدیق کی ہے کہ پاکستان نے چین کے سائنوفرم سے کورونیو وائرس کی 12 لاکھ خوراکیں کواویڈ 19 خریدنے کا فیصلہ کیا ہے۔ یہ پاکستان کی طرف سے کورونا وائرس ویکسین کا پہلا آرڈر ہوگا۔ فواد چوہدری نے یہ بھی کہا کہ ہم نے 1.2 ملین COVID-19 خوراکوں کی پری بک کروائی ہے۔ آئندہ سال کی پہلی سہ ماہی میں دستیاب ہوگی۔ یہ کورونا وائرس کی دوسری لہر کے لئے خریدا گیا تھا۔ چین نے پہلے ہی سونوفرم کے ذریعہ تیار کردہ COVID-19 ویکسینوں کی منظوری دے دی ہے لیکن عوامی استعمال کے ل for یہ ویکسینوں کی پہلی فراہمی ہوگی۔

فواد چوہدری نے بھی تصدیق کی کہ یہ فرنٹ لائن ورکرز کو مفت فراہم کی جائے گی۔ مزید انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ نجی شعبے کو بھی بیرون ملک سے COVID-19 ویکسین خریدنے کی اجازت ہوگی۔ 30 دسمبر کو کورونا وائرس کے 2،475 نئے کیسز ہیں اور 58 اموات کی اطلاع ملی ہے۔

پاکستانی وفاقی وزیر فواد چوہدری نے کہا کہ COVID-19 ویکسین فرنٹ لائن ورکرز کے لئے مفت ہوگی۔ اگرچہ نجی شعبے بین الاقوامی سطح پر منظور شدہ ویکسین بھی خرید سکتے ہیں۔ کابینہ کمیٹی کا اجلاس وزیر منصوبہ بندی اسد عمر کی زیر صدارت ہوا جس میں انہوں نے تصدیق کی کہ پاکستان نے COVID-19 ویکسین خریدنے کے لئے 250 ملین ڈالر مختص کیے ہیں۔ کچھ ممالک نے ترقی سے پہلے کے مرحلے میں بھی پہلے سے بکیاں لگوا رکھی ہیں۔ پاکستان نے کسی بھی ہنگامی صورتحال سے نمٹنے کے لئے مختلف کمپنیوں کے ساتھ معاہدوں پر بھی دستخط کیے ہیں۔

COVID-19 ویکسین کی نگرانی کے لئے ایک خصوصی کابینہ کمیٹی ہے۔ پاکستانی وزیر منصوبہ بندی اسد عمر اس کمیٹی کے سربراہ ہیں۔ بہت سے وزراء نے بدھ کے روز کابینہ کمیٹی کے دوسرے اجلاس میں شرکت کی جس کی صدارت اسد عمر کی تھی۔ کمیٹی نے پہلے مرحلے میں فرنٹ لائن کارکنوں کو مفت ویکسین فراہم کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا۔ پھر دوسرے مرحلے میں ، یہ ان لوگوں کو فراہم کی جائے گی جن کی عمر 65 سال سے زیادہ ہے۔

چین نے تصدیق کی ہے کہ سینوفرم ویکسین 79 فیصد موثر ثابت ہوئی ہے۔
